1st X1 258-8 v Scarborough 191-6

After losing the toss, United were made to bat first on a pitch that offered a lot of early sideways movement. United lost openers Osmond and Smallpiece cheaply, which brought Trower (100) and Longhurst (93) to the crease who took the score the 168 before Trower was dismissed by Gilbert with 19 overs still remaining. Good hitting from Alex Osmond and Martin Barlow took United up to an impressive 258-8 from their 55 overs.

United got off to a good start dismissing opener Arendse and overseas Cunnah cheaply. However Darren Harland played extremely patiently and ended up with 74, supported well by Lawson who also scored a useful 50 not out at the end of the innings put the chance of the full 8 point victory out of the reach of United. Longhurst rounded off a good days work with 3 wickets. Scarborough closed their innings 68 runs short on 191-6.
