1st X1 207 all out v Hull 209-7
In perfect weather for cricket, United travelled to Hull keen to get back on winning ways after two poor results. United won the toss and elected to bat first on a good batting pitch. United lost Barlow, Osmond, Longhirst and Trower all very early leaving the score at 30 for 4. Smallpiece and Plummer steadied the ship slightly and gave United a platform to at least set a reasonable target. Matt King batted extremely well for 56 supported well by Plummer and Rob Taylor to leave United with 207 all out. United got off to an ideal start taking the key wicket of Simpson without troubling the scorers. United always looked in the game taking regular wickets, however the difference between the two sides was crashing 127* from Matt Wilkinson, his maiden YL hundred. Wilkinson survived a few scares when he was dropped at gully and behind the wicket including decisions that could have easily gone against him to really command Hull's innings and take them home to a comfortable win.
